My parents love to cook. They are constantly refining and perfecting their recipes until they are perfect. One of those recipes that my mother has researched, tested, and continuously refined is her meatball recipe.
This is the last week before my crazy life as a grad student starts up again. So I’ve been going on a baking and cooking frenzy. I made this banana bread earlier this week. So glad I did. I’ve been enjoying a slice at breakfast… or as a mid afternoon snack… or both!
I love having fresh bread to go with meals or in sandwiches. Being on your own means it takes a LOT longer to finish a whole loaf. So I often find myself faced with the agonizing decision of what to do with the whole loaf before it changes into a multicolored piece of art.
There is an Italian restaurant at home that my family always went to growing up. Their Caesar salad is divine and they have an unbelievable pasta dish: porcini mushroom tortellini with a mushroom cream sauce. In addition to their amazing main dishes, this restaurant also serves homemade focaccia bread at the beginning of every meal. It is dense, salty, and perfectly seasoned.
I’ve always been a pasta girl. And a sauce girl. Lucky for me, I figured out a quick and easy way to make a sauce that I love! It’s great on pasta, with dishes like chicken parmesan, or simply as a dipping sauce for a crusty bread. I’ll make a batch (or two) at the beginning of the week and then use it for my meals for the rest of the week.
Chocolate chip cookies are definitely a popular cookie… and for good reason. It’s in the combination of a sugary cookie and melted chocolate chunks. Not to mention their tastiness increases exponentially when dunked in a cup of cold milk! There really is nothing like a soft, warm chocolate chip cookie straight from the oven.
This is my go-to appetizer to serve or bring to any occasion. This is one of those recipes I figured out how to make in college… and probably made it too much. After eating out with some friends and realizing I was completely addicted to this hot dip, I knew I had to be able to replicate it on my own. A great thing about this recipe is that all of the ingredients are things that you can keep on-hand in your kitchen!
